Tony Tuff

Born Winston Anthony Morris in Kingston Jamaica, Tony Tuff is a singer, musician, entertainer, songwriter and producer. He began his professional career at the start of the 70’s as the lead singer of the group African Brothers. The members of the group were Tony Tuff, Sugar Minott and Eric Bubbles.

Tony Tuff solo career

Tuff went solo in the early 70’s and recorded on major local Jamaican labels like Federal, Dynamics, Studio One, GG’s Penthouse, Black Scorpio, Channel One, Jammy’s and Harry J. to name a few. He also recorded on London base “ Grove Music” for “Island Music”. He had top of the chart success both locally and abroad with songs like “ I’ll Have To Get You” (First Time I Met You), “Come Fi Mash It”, “Deliver Me”, “Fire Bun”, “Run Come Come”, “Gallop For Me”, “Love Light Shining”, “Nobody Like You” (Water Pumpee), “Mix Me Down”, “Jam It Again” and “Hustling”. He had the Song Of The Year in 1982 in Jamaica called “I’ll Have to Get You”.

Tony Tuff performances

Tony Tuff performed on major shows like Sunsplash and Japan Splash, and got great reviews. He performed in various countries worldwide including Jamaica, Europe, U.S.A, Trinidad, Canada, and Japan. Tuff was dubbed the “Most Consistent Reggae Hit Maker” in the U.S.A in the 80’s. Tony Tuff is currently still making hits and is known to be energetic, vibrant and a big crowd pleaser.
