New York Brazilian Singer 1
This New York Brazilian Singer is a native of Rio de Janeiro. She is the daughter of a classical pianist, grew up in a musical environment listening to traditional Brazilian styles such as samba, choro and classical music. Since the age of fifteen she sings and performs professionally.
New York Brazilian Singer studies
She studied music at the Brazilian music school EPM, founded and taught by masters musicians of choro music, a traditional Brazilian style precedent to samba. At EPM, this New York Brazilian Singer studied voice as well as the guitar and cavaquinho, a Brazilian version of the ukulele, traditional to samba and choro music.
In 2009 she moved to NYC to share her music with the city and since then she’s has been performing with a number of respectable musicians and at well known venues in the city.
New York Brazilian Singer album
In May of 2013 this New York Brazilian Singer released her debut album. The album is a journey through generations of great composers of samba giving a real tribute to the most traditional and timeless rhythm of Brazil. The album features fresh and original interpretations of classical compositions by masters such as Chico Buarque, Milton Nascimento, Paulinho da Viola, Nelson Sargento, Baden Powell, Vinicius de Morais, among others.
Critically acclaimed, the singer’s debut album has been presented in different venues in the US, Brazil and at international music festivals, like the St Barths Summer Sessions in St Barths in August 2013, at the Go Mad Festival in November 2013 and at the Goa International Jazz Live Festival in November 2014 in India.
Besides performing, she is also a music educator. This New York Brazilian Singer has done several music workshops around the world as well as taught at the well known Swarnabhoomy Academy of Music in India.
