Luxury Trio

Since its inception in 2006, the Luxury Trio has grown to be the premium Houston jazz band for upscale events. They currently maintain a schedule of well over 100 dates per year. Their clients range from some of America’s largest corporations to brides planning the most intimate of wedding ceremonies. Geographically, they perform at events all over Texas and Louisiana in venues that have included everything from presidential libraries, to luxury hotels and country clubs, to elegant backyard anniversaries.

Luxury Trio skill

The Luxury Trio is dedicated to the vanishing art of small ensemble jazz. They form a tightly knit musical unit that is both spontaneous and technically skilled. With this trio what you see is what you get—they use no computers, or overbearing public address systems. People are always amazed that such a full and organic sound can be emanating from such a small group. The reaction is similar to that received by a closeup magician. They are often asked, “How do you do that?” The answer is years of practice. Collectively the Luxury Trio represents over 50 years of playing experience, and it is this artistry they bring to your special event. They provide a musical environment that is invigorating yet subtle enough to allow for conversation. The music adjusts to the ebb and flow of the occasion creating an event that people will be talking about for years to come.

Luxury Trio members

Although at their core they are a jazz trio consisting of jazz guitar, upright bass and drums, they are capable of scaling up. The Luxury Trio is fortunate in having a fabulous group of musicians that regularly perform with them. This includes a brass section consisting of trumpets, trombones, and saxophones as well as some wonderful singers. So, they can modify the group to fit the needs of your event.

I hired them to play for my wedding last week, and they were fabulous! They played both the reception and the ceremony… the lead guitarist, was very professional, and called me when he broke his wrist. He found a replacement guitarist two weeks for the wedding, and everything went fairly smoothly.

The band had to drive to and from Austin from Houston in the rain, no less, and they were punctual and followed the schedule that I had given them. They were able to do all the requests I had mailed them a week before. They were one of my favorite parts of the wedding.

[This band] is a three piece jazz band. They played at our wedding reception. We wanted live music for the reception without breaking the bank. (I personally feel that DJs are too middle school dance.)

[The band] was great. They accommodated our more contemporary music taste. Jazz music really sets a chill but fancy atmosphere. They created a great intimate feel too. They are perfect for a small-medium size wedding or special event. The best part is their price. We spent less on a live band than most people spend on a DJ.

We recently had a party for my dad’s 75th birthday and had contracted the [this band] for the gig. We considered [them] because of my father’s taste in swing and jazz. We had asked them to include dance tunes since our family likes to dance – boy did they deliver! They played some jazz and swing to start off, but got everyone’s feet moving with tunes by the Beatles, The Drifters (On Broadway), Santana, Stevie Wonder, and even Michael Jackson (Billie Jean). They were kind enough to allow one of our uncles to take the lead on vocals for a requested piece.

Our family and guests really enjoyed having the Trio perform. Kevin, the vocalist for the night, got high compliments and as one guest put it, “that guy ain’t singing he SANGIN’ FOR THE CHURCH”!!! Another guest thought that Lee, the guitarist, was “mean on the strings” but in a really good way!

Overall, I would highly recommend this group to anyone who is interested in having live music at their event, but want to try something a little different.

It was a fantastic experience. They had a big repertoire that included even pop and Latin music. Great for background music while dining and socializing, but also for dancing. – Carmen G

These gentlemen are awesome! They were extremely talented and wonderful to work with. You can tell that they truly love to play music and were a wonderful addition to our company Christmas party. I will definitely rehire them for future occasions! – Nancy W

…They were so accommodating. Our wedding was outside in the courtyard, so they set up outside for the ceremony. After the ceremony the weather turned chilly so we moved everyone inside the house, and the band just picked up their equipment and moved in too! They played in my brother’s kitchen during our reception! The music was never overpowering, it was perfect. We could dance and were still able to talk. All of our guests enjoyed it. I would highly recommend this talented, professional group for any upscale event. – Wedding: 11/29/2008
