David Pinto

David Pinto is best known for his work with Afro-Peruvian diva Susana Baca (Grammy Award 2002) as bassist, arranger, and music director. He has performed internationally in many world and jazz music festivals, and is a former member of Peru Jazz, one of the most innovative music groups in the fusion of Peruvian rhythms and jazz. He has also performed with: Alex Acuña, Justo Almario, John Medeski, Marc Ribot, David Byrne, Arturo Sandoval, Armando Manzanero, Olga Guillot, Jeff Pocaro, Mike Stern, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, Gilberto Gil, and Wayne Wallace. He has been an instructor at The Jazz School in Berkeley, the Mission Cultural Center For Latino Arts of SF, and conducts a Latin student ensemble.

David Pinto guitarist has performed for over 20 years in a variety of venues and recording projects. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, she has worked as a songwriter, composer, and arranger in a variety of musical styles and contexts, including the independent film Jerome by JET Productions, and has performed with Peruvian musical greats Juan Medrano “Cotito,” the bassist and music director for Susana Baca, Grammy Award 2002, and former members of Peru Negro, Marina Lavalle and Lalo Izquierdo. She is co-author of the guitar instruction book, "The Beginner's Guide to Guitar," and a contributor to Acoustic Guitar magazine, including online video lessons. She has arranged multiple guitar quartets that have been published digitally. She teaches guitar at CSMA (Community School of Music and Arts) in Mountain.

David Pinto drummer

David Pinto drummer has been involved with hundreds of bands since the early 1980s. While living in Los Angeles, he worked as a session drummer and was also a member of the successful Nuevo Flamenco band, “Incendio,” from Los Angeles. One of his proudest achievements was performing with Monty Python star, Eric Idle, at Carnegie Hall, while on that same tour he also played with Clint Black and Art Garfunkel. In 2002, he moved to Napa Valley and has continued to play with many different artists. The list is long, but begins with his group and continues with “Silverado Pick-Ups,” who opened for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and Leon Russell; he also performed with Grammy award winning artists Billy Dean, Monty Powell, and the Swedish pianist extraordinaire, Robert Wells.
