This Oklahoma City Latin Band music is a fusion between Vallenato, Salsa, Cumbia, and Gaita, with elements of blues, rock and reggae. It was created in April of 2009. The band members come from very different backgrounds and different countries.
Oklahoma City Latin Band CD
They released their first album in November of 2009. In their songs, the band protests against violent conflict in Colombia, the trafficking of drugs, the gap between social classes, and kidnapping. This Oklahoma City Latin Band also performs folkloric music such as Vallenato, Cumbia, Porro, Gaita, Bullerengue, and Merengue. The band tries to recover valuable pieces of Colombian folklore that have been forgotten over the years by spicing them up with new sounds and a fresher look to share with audiences of Latin America, USA, and the world.
Oklahoma City Latin Band performances
They perform most of the time in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and Kansas. This Oklahoma City Latin Band has performed in arena shows, university auditoriums, concert halls, outdoor music and art festivals, and Latin clubs among other venues.
