Vancouver Mariachi 1

Based in Vancouver, this Vancouver Mariachi group is recognized as one of Canada’s premier Mexican music ensembles. Founded in 1992, the band brings together Mexican and Canadian musicians to create a unique fusion of traditional Mariachi with classical flair, performing everything from tender romantic ballads to energetic ranchero tunes.

The core members of this Vancouver Mariachi group are Octavio, Antonio, Cameron, Sandra, and Mario. Over the years, many other talented Mexican and Canadian musicians have collaborated with the band, and their contributions have played a vital role in shaping the ensemble into what it is today.

Since its formation, this Vancouver Mariachi has performed at countless public and private functions in Canada and Mexico, in front of all type of audiences.

Born and raised in the City of Texcoco, Mexico, singing since age 4, now a professional singer and guitar player. Based in Vancouver British Columbia since 1990 where he is well known, Octavio is the lead singer, founder and director of this Vancouver Mariachi group and he has participated in numerous contests and festivals in Mexico and Canada, achieving several awards as composer and singer.

The leader of this Vancouver Mariachi group has participated also in Radio, TV programs and TV series as Harper’s Island in 2008, movies as Take My Life and theatrical productions like: “The King And I” which was running the winter of 2003-2004 – forty five days in a row at the Gateway Theater in Richmond B.C. where he played the role of “Lun- Tha”.

During its singing carrier Octavio has performed sharing the stage with World famous bands and artists like: Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan, Mariachi de América, Mariachi Los Camperos and many more elite bands.

This Vancouver Mariachi group has represented Canada on a number of occasions, the 11th International Mariachi Festival in Guadalajara City, and the Mexico and Mariachi, The Spirit of Mexico Tour, were two of the most influential.
