The leader of this Boston Mariachi group is a Mariachi singer by trade but has become a cultural icon for Latinos in Boston. She has effectively utilized the power of arts and culture to bring the community together by raising awareness on the importance of diversity and she has empowered youth by employing them, and teaching them about their roots and culture.
As a singer, the leader of this Boston Mariachi has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Providence Performing Arts Center, and The Dallas Convention Center.

The leader of this Boston Mariachi was honored by Mayor Walsh with a mural with her image on her Mariachi outfit on Pari Street in East Boston; Mayor also appointed her to the leadership board for the Boston Creates initiative; and serves as vice-president of East Boston Chamber of Commerce.
She is Co-founder and Director of a Cultural Center, a non-profit organization that supports community action and economic growth in East Boston, offers Latin American arts and culture programs while also providing jobs for youth.

The leader of this Boston Mariachi has received countless awards, and the most recent include the “Community Hero Award” by ABCD, “Extraordinary Woman In Cultural Enrichment” by Governor of Rhode Island, and “2016 East Boston Woman of The Year” by East Boston Times.
The leader of this Boston Mariachi group is recipient of the 2016 Creative Cities Grant by New England Foundation for the Arts, 2012 Nominee to the Artist Fellowship Program in Traditional Arts by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. She is also a New England States Touring (NEST) Artist, and she works with Young Audiences of Massachusetts, Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire and Hartford Performs in Connecticut.
Recently, she was awarded the 2018 Live Arts Boston grant to support her project. She is a woman of courage and principles. As a cancer survivor, she lives her life to the fullest, filled with joy, passion, and love. The leader of this Boston Mariachi group work honors the memory of her only daughter who passed away as a teenager.
