Stratford Polka Band 4

This Stratford Polka Band specializes in the kind of music Wisconsin greats Romy Gosz and Dick Rodgers used to play from the early 1930s to the early 1980s.

Stratford Polka Band core

The heart of this Stratford Polka Band is the father and his son. The father, a retired band director, always loved the old-time polka style of Romy Gosz, and taught Gosz's music to his band students. He also gave music lessons to his son when he was a small boy. When the boy was seventeen, the two of them started playing in bands together. As the son grew older, he and his father would regularly get together to play their trumpets. "It just got to the point where we said, 'Why don't we just start up a band? The Orchestra played its first dance on Memorial Day 2006.

Stratford Polka Band repertoire

The band's music library consists of polkas, waltzes, schottisches, big band and modern music. If you're looking for a good, old-time orchestra, check out this seven-piece band when they're performing in your area. This Stratford Polka Band currently has one CD available with more in the planning stages.
