Montreal Variety Duo

This Montreal Variety Duo is comprised of two Canadian-born singer-songwriters who have been close collaborators since 1988. They first performed publicly together in 1989 as lead singers in the musical review "Jukebox : le boulevard des rêves" in Montréal, Québec. In 1990 and 1991 both participated as solo artists in two musical productions ("La grande aventure du Rock'n'Roll'' and ''l'Odyssée'') where they caught the attention of audiences and industry newspapers alike.

In 1991, this Montreal Variety Duo signed a record contract with AVANTI (Disques Petites Anges) as singer-songwriters. In 1992, Diva Records (a Canadian record label) signed as solo artists to record a number of albums entitled ''Ce soir on danse'' Volumes 1, 2 and 3. Volume 1 topped the radio charts for several weeks and the record sales for the three albums exceeded 400,000 copies in the province of Quebec. Both artists were awarded platinum and gold albums from the Canadian Recording Industry Association.

Two years later, they returned to the studio as co-producers and lead vocalists for the album « Can’t stop dancing » which ranked in the top-50 best sellers at Trans-Canada in the summer of 1994. In the year 2000, this Montreal Variety Duo produced and recorded an album featuring great standards by artists such as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Lena Horne etc. titled «Romance» and in 2005, both produced and sang the lead tracks for a Christmas album which includes an original track currently being considered for a Walt Disney film in California.

Both artists have performed as back-up vocalists on both stage and television for such artists as : Ginette Reno, Luba, Richard Séguin, Alain Chamfort, Zachary Richard, Edith Butler, Gilles Vigneault, Claudia Phillips, Marie-Michelle Desrosiers, Geneviève Paris, Claudine Mercier and many more. They can be heard on a number of albums as well such as « Paroles de femme» by Nathalie Simard «Un goût de liberté » by Erik Aubut , «Ca swingue » by Edith Butler and «Love is all » by Ginette Reno.

Also to this Montreal Variety Duo credit are a number of radio and television commercials for products such as Mountain Dew, Poulet Saint-Hubert, Auto-Heck Ford, Elite Ford, Rona Disnat, Tourism Quebec (National and International), Tourism - The Laurentians and more. Both singers have lent their voices to film tracks :« All dogs go to heaven » (international) and « Le Party » (Quebec, Canada).

This Montreal Variety Duo has extensive stage experience and have performed privately for such clients as : Transcontinental, Remax, Cascades, la Banque Laurentienne , BOMA Québec, La Fondation Immobilière de Montréal pour Enfants, Alcan, CKAC, Pierre Péladeau, Gillette, Provigo, The St. James Club, Club St-Denis, The Royal Montreal Golf Club, Laval-sur-le-lac Golf Club, Le Mirage Golf Club, Le Blainvillier Golf Club, Lavallée-Richelieu Golf Club and dozens of the province’s leading hotels.
